# People of Pontica – Ivan Aleksiev

**Ivan Aleksiev,** Team Manager

##### **My Story**

I joined Pontica almost 3 months ago and I am incredibly happy and proud to be part of the amazing journey that is the company’s growth and development. I work for the Sharkmob project (a video game development company) and I joined Pontica because I loved its message “We Grow Together” – I saw it as a great motivation to develop myself in the company. I also *LOVE* teamwork and wanted to use my experience to contribute to the project I am working for.

I have substantial experience in Customer Support, but I have also worked as an International Student Service Executive at the St. Cyril and Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. The latter is also the university I graduated from with a B.A. and an M.A. – both degrees were in translation studies with English and Russian. In fact, I have also been doing freelance projects as a translator and writer, and I have attended several translation competitions and seminars during my studies.

My education, professional experience and personal interests drove me to visit a number of countries. I have been to Poland (I had two 3-month traineeships there, and one 4-month student exchange, explored Krakow, Warsaw, Lublin and other cities), Russia (I had one 3-month student exchange program, one student summer camp in Moscow, and I attended the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi in 2017), and Turkey, Ukraine and Moldova (as part of my work with international students at the St. Cyril and Methodius University in Tarnovo).

All this was driven to a great deal by my love for languages – apart from my native Bulgarian, I am fluent in English and Russian, but I also speak conversational Polish and am a beginner in Ukrainian. Looking forward to learning at least 3 more!

##### **My Motivation**

I am truly inspired to help every single individual from my team grow and achieve their best, and I love devoting my knowledge and experience to our common goal. I also love helping players, it brings me a great feeling of satisfaction.

##### **Ivan after work**

I enjoy writing (usually short form prose), drawing, playing an acoustic guitar (I am not super good, but I am self-taught), going for walks and playing computer games. I also enjoy (although it is a rare hobby) translating poetry.
