Q1 2026 Recap: Growth, Connections & Purpose in Action

Published 20 Avr. 2026 | 4 min read

The first quarter of 2026 set the tone for another dynamic year at Pontica – one shaped by growth, meaningful partnerships, international conversations, and moments that brought our teams even closer together.

From global recognition to local impact, Q1 reminded us that sustainable success is built through people, purpose, and collaboration.

A Global Recognition for Customer Service Excellence

We began the year with a milestone worth celebrating. Pontica was honored as a Bronze Winner at the 20th Annual Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer Service, receiving the 2026 Bronze Stevie Award for Customer Service Department of the Year.

The award recognizes our work with Sungrow, supporting the company as it scaled and centralized customer service operations within the fast‑growing renewable energy sector. This achievement reflects not only operational excellence, but also the trust placed in Pontica to lead complex, multi‑market CX transformation – delivering consistency, quality, and resilience across regions and languages.

Above all, the recognition belongs to our teams whose expertise, dedication, and collaborative spirit made this success possible.

Supporting the Local Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

In Q1, we also proudly announced our partnership with Varnapreneurs – a community dedicated to supporting and growing the local entrepreneurial ecosystem in Varna.

By partnering with Varnapreneurs, Pontica strengthens its commitment to empowering founders, innovators, and future business leaders. The organization plays a vital role in fostering knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and inspiration among entrepreneurs, and we’re excited to contribute to an ecosystem that drives long‑term regional growth and innovation.

Joining Europe’s Key Business Conversations

The beginning of 2026 also took us beyond borders, as Pontica participated in two major business events in Berlin—each offering valuable insights into the evolving CX and payments landscapes.

At CCW Berlin 2026, our CEO and Co‑Founder Ivan Georgiev, alongside Business Development Partner Deniz Dyonmez, joined industry leaders to discuss the future of customer dialogue, operational resilience, and sustainable CX delivery. The conversations highlighted a clear shift – from simply adopting new technology to implementing it responsibly, at scale, and with long‑term impact in mind. As always, the most valuable insights came from open discussions and shared challenges across markets and industries.

Meanwhile, MPE Berlin 2026 brought together over 1,600 professionals from the global Merchant Payments Ecosystem, with Deniz representing Pontica. What stood out was the move beyond innovation for innovation’s sake toward understanding what truly works at scale. Behind every seamless payment experience lies a strong operational backbone, and that’s where real differentiation now begins.

Both events reinforced a shared industry perspective: technology, operations, and customer experience must evolve together to deliver meaningful, sustainable value.

Connecting with the Next Generation of Talent

Closer to home, Pontica took part in the 14th edition of the Career Forum at the University of Economics – Varna. The event brought together students and young professionals eager to learn, grow, and take their first steps into exciting industries.

With inspiring conversations and high energy throughout the day, the forum reminded us why these interactions matter. Meeting motivated young people and sharing real‑world perspectives on career growth continues to be an important part of Pontica’s commitment to education and talent development.

Strengthening Team Spirit, One Moment at a Time

Q1 was also packed with moments that celebrated our people and culture. Across our offices, we delivered 10+ engagement initiatives filled with fun, connection, and team spirit.

From Valentine’s Day sweets and a themed quiz, to celebrating International Women’s Day, embracing the Bulgarian tradition of Baba Marta with a Martenitsa workshop, and many other big and small moments – these initiatives created space for connection, appreciation, and shared experiences. They’re a reminder that strong teams are built not only through work, but through moments that bring people together.

Looking Ahead

Q1 2026 was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when purpose, people, and performance align. As we continue the year, we remain focused on building resilient operations, meaningful partnerships, and an environment where teams can grow and thrive.

Here’s to an even more impactful year ahead. 💙
