We organised our annual Pontica Community Day in support of youth and the environment

This year’s volunteering event focused on enhancing outdoor areas at educational institutions in Sofia, Varna, and Burgas

On April 26th, colleagues from Pontica Solutions joined forces with high school and university students at three different locations for our Community Day – a shared effort to support young people by making the spaces where they learn more welcoming and inspiring, but also to contribute to a greener future.

 The initiative reflected the values behind our #wesupporttheYOUNG and #wesupportthePLANET verticals, showing how collective action can make a meaningful difference.

In Sofia, students and colleagues gathered at the Faculty of Economics at Sofia University to paint the campus alley and signage, clean the area, and plant flowers. Denimir Dimitrov, founder and CEO of Zero Wave, also joined the event and shared practical tips on how to live and work more sustainably – by reducing emissions, composting, and adopting mindful reuse and recycling habits.

In Varna, students and team members came together at the main campus of the University of Economics to repaint and refresh the perimeter fence. The day also featured a talk by Nikolay Tanchev, founder of the Geya Foundation, who spoke about sustainability and how we can adopt more environmentally responsible practices in our everyday lives.

In Burgas, participants came together at the French Language High School “G. S. Rakovski” to clean and repaint benches, contributing to a more pleasant and functional outdoor space for the school community.

By taking action together, this year’s Community Day reminded us that small, local efforts can have a lasting impact. We believe in the power of long-term partnerships and in creating meaningful change through consistency and care, because we are committed to supporting youth, sustainable development, and the communities we are part of.
